BMI Calculator

Body mass index compares your weight to your height. It is a rough screen, not a verdict, and it says nothing about how much of that weight is muscle.

The method

Weight divided by height squared.

BMI is your weight in kilograms divided by the square of your height in metres. Imperial entries are converted before the division, so both unit systems return the same number rather than running separate arithmetic.

The World Health Organization's adult cut-points are 18.5, 25 and 30. A BMI of 24.9 is inside the healthy band and 25.0 is the first value outside it.

The limitation is well known and worth stating plainly: BMI cannot tell muscle from fat. Someone who has been training with resistance for a few years will often read Overweight while carrying less fat than the average person reading Healthy. If you want a number that separates the two, the body fat calculator uses a tape measure instead.

Numbers are the easy part.

Rubber Bands turns a goal into a schedule you can actually keep, built around the resistance bands you already own.
